This is in great condition with a few marks on the body of the lens - which is usual to see with these lenses as they were often the go to lens because of the fantastic Bokeh effect they produce.. This is a truly lovely lens! A great addition to your set up.

The Meyer Optik Domiplan is a very common 50mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. It has 3 elements in 3 groups since it's a classical anastigmatic triplet lens. It was sort of the kit lens on many Praktica cameras, but after Pentacon took over Meyer being replaced by the rebranded Oreston, which is a 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Opinions on the Domiplan are very different. Some love it for its sharpness, other think it is nothing more than average. It produces very nice pictures though, and is being used on digital bodies (with adapters) by many fans.

The lens is also popular to be used on extension tubes for macro photography. Early versions have silver/black checkered grip rings for aperture and focus, commonly known as "Zebra" versions.

A 30mm version was built into some Penti compact cameras, and a 45mm version into the Beirette and Beirette k cameras.
