Lots of customers have been contacting us recently about their Canon A series cameras, asking if they need a service. Canon cough is very common with AE1 Programme and Canon A1 cameras especially. Canon cough is caused by dried lubrication on the mirror cage mechanism and sounds like a squeak or a cough. These cameras should just click not make an awful noise ! Its often left and ignored resulting in erratic shutters speeds and mirror returns. If you are not sure what it is, here is a video so you can hear it. Many people are attempting DIY fixes and these are often not a good idea! we are seeing lots of cameras drenched in oil and it is a major clean up job if this happens.
